CLINICAL APPLICATION OF MIASM IN CHRONIC DISEASES: A CASE REPORT OF CHRONIC HYPOTHYROIDISM

Abstract

Hypothyroidism is now a days major public health challenge to the larger population. The thyroid gland produces two related hormones, thyroxine (T4 ) and triiodothyronine (T3 ) . Acting through thyroid hormone receptors (TR) α and β, these hormones play a critical role in cell differentiation and organogenesis during development and help maintain thermogenic and metabolic homeostasis in the adult.^[1] Autoimmune disorders of the thyroid gland can stimulate the overproduction of thyroid hormones (thyrotoxicosis)^[1] or cause glandular destruction and hormone deficiency (hypothyroidism)^[1] . Homoeopathy is widely used for endocrine disorders like hypothyroidism. In this case presentation, I briefly discuss on hypothyroidism and a case, which was treated by Homoeopathic Medicines.Furher, in this case report I discussed about clinical application of concept of Miasm in deep seated chronic diseases.
