Abstract

Indian homoeopathic drugs demonstrate a distinct sphere of action on the gastrointestinal system, influencing processes such as digestion, absorption, and elimination. Derived from indigenous sources and supported by proving’s and clinical experience, these remedies are applicable in a wide range of gastrointestinal disturbances, including altered appetite, dyspepsia, gastric irritability, abdominal distension, and bowel irregularities. Their characteristic symptomatology—comprising peculiar sensations, modalities, and individualized expressions—serves as a reliable guide for remedy selection. In homoeopathy, gastrointestinal symptoms often reflect both local dysfunction and underlying systemic imbalance, and these remedies act at a functional level to restore digestive equilibrium. By improving digestive efficiency, regulating bowel function, and relieving discomfort, Indian homoeopathic drugs contribute to overall well-being. Thus, they hold a significant place in individualized homoeopathic management of gastrointestinal disorders.
