EFFICACY OF ASANADI TAILA NASYA IN TIMIR WITH PRATHAMA PATALAGATA SPECIAL REFERENCE TO SIMPLE MYOPIA

Abstract

ABSTRACT :

INTRODUCTION : Myopia is major public health problem pertaining to eye that entail substantial social, personal, educational and economical impact, various surveys in India have found the prevalence of myopia ranging from 6.9% to 19.7%. Myopia progression is irreversible and methods for the correction of myopia are not without complication. Myopia closely resembles Timira involving first Patala in terms of symptoms anatomical structures involved and pathogenesis of the disease.

METHODOLOGY:

Total 60 number of  patients completed the therapy with Asanadi tail pratimarshya nasya 2drops, subjective and objective improvement in the patients.

 

RESULT:

statistical analysis of results has been explained in clinical study. All the observations are recorded in a specially designed proforma.

At the verge of completion of this study, final conclusions drawn on the basis of deductive reasoning of the data obtained from this clinical trial are as follows –Majority of the patients 93.33%) were reported in the age group of 20-40 years.

Maximum numbers (60%) of patients were females.Maximum (30.0 %) patients were students and 30% are doing job.Maximum numbers (51.66) of the patients were Agni manda

Maximum (60%) of the patient were kostha.Maximum number of patients (51.66%) of thepatient were nonveg.All the patients i.e. (100 % )were reported to have normal fundus picture.Differentiation of Timir on the basis of Doshik involvement could not be drawn as patients were not having specific symptoms according to Dosha as mentioned in the texts other than the blurred vision.

CONCLUSION:

Effect of Nasya therapy with Asanadi Taila in 60 patients of Timir: In Shirobhitapa (Headache) 60% relief was observed and 62.67 %relief was found in Netrayasa (Eye strain) which is statistically highly significant (P<0.001). The visual acuity was improved by 20 % in both the eyes which is statistically significant (P<0.001). However complete relief was not found in any of the patients included for this study.

The study is aim at evaluating the efficacy of the Nasya procedure with Asanadi tail in myopia.
